Position Summary
A leading kitchen manufacturing company is seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join its finance team. This role is pivotal in managing the consolidation and financial reporting of the group’s subsidiaries, ensuring full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and supporting strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth experience in group reporting, financial controls, and multi-entity environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes across all group entities.
• Ensure accuracy in intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations.
• Assist in group-level budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Maintain and continuously improve group accounting policies and internal procedures.
• Liaise effectively with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Support due diligence, reporting, and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and uphold internal control standards.
• Provide technical accounting guidance across departments.
• Analyse and report on group performance to senior management.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a group accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation practices.
• Proficient understanding of VAT and income tax regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Clear credit and criminal record.
• Verification of highest education level and professional references required.
Preferred Experience
• Previous experience within the manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Xero or similar platforms.
• Exposure to foreign currency transactions.
