Job Title: Equity Build Lead

Job Purpose:
Lead and deliver around 12 new and 10 remodel restaurant construction projects per year across Africa. Manage all phases of each project – from planning and budgeting to construction and final handover – ensuring everything aligns with Company Standards. Requires strong project management, cost control, and negotiation skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 5–10 years’ experience in project and construction management, especially in retail or multi-site environments.
• Strong commercial and contract negotiation skills.
• Experience with health & safety compliance, cost control, and supplier management.
• Background in property, construction, architecture, engineering, or similar.
• Advantageous: MBA or MSc in Property Studies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Management (40%) – Oversee all aspects of new builds and remodels: budgets, tenders, suppliers, timelines, and compliance.
• Cost Management (20%) – Lead tender processes, cost negotiations, and contractor agreements; find ways to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
• Site Acquisition (20%) – Identify and secure new restaurant locations with favourable lease terms and clear landlord/tenant responsibilities.
• Municipal Approvals (15%) – Navigate zoning, permits, and building plan approvals.
• Other Projects (5%) – Support business needs as required.
Key Interactions:
• Internal Teams: Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Ops, etc. – align on project goals and execution.
• External Partners: Architects, engineers, contractors – manage and negotiate project execution.
Problem Solving & Decision-Making:
• Innovate to cut costs and improve build quality.
• Recommend and approve tenders, suppliers, and final contracts.
• Balance commercial decisions with long-term business value.
Innovation:
• Actively improve building processes and explore new suppliers, materials, and methods to increase value and reduce life cycle costs.

Salary: R900 – R1.1MIL Annually depending on experience, skills, qualifications and current gross
