As part of our growing team, we are looking for a Storeman/Junior Storeman to help manage our stock, organize materials, and ensure smooth warehouse operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with entry-level experience in warehousing, with a passion for working in a creative, fast-paced environment.
Position Overview:
The Storeman/Junior Storeman will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and managing stock used in kitchen design projects. The role requires an individual who is organized, has strong attention to detail, and is able to work independently or as part of a team to ensure smooth stock management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and verify deliveries of kitchen materials and components, ensuring accuracy in items and quantities
• Organize and store materials in an orderly manner, maintaining easy access and stock rotation
• Maintain accurate inventory records by logging stock movements in inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Unleashed)
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist with periodic stocktaking
• Operate forklifts (if required) for moving heavy items or materials within the warehouse
• Assist with picking, packing, and preparing kitchen materials and products for distribution to job sites
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with safety standards
• Support the design and production teams with stock management needs and material requests
Qualifications:
• Education: Matric/Grade 12 certificate (essential)
• Additional Training: Courses in inventory management or logistics are beneficial, but not mandatory
• Experience: At least 5 years of entry-level experience in warehousing or store management preferred
• Skills:
o Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Excel, inventory systems like SAP or Unleashed)
o Strong understanding of stock management principles
o Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Additional Requirements:
• Forklift operation license (if required for handling large or heavy items)
• Physically fit and able to handle manual lifting and stock movement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must reside within 15km of Sandton
