PROJECT MANAGER

About the Company
Our client is an established company specialising in office supplies, workplace design, fittings and fixtures, delivering tailored solutions to corporate and commercial clients. They are looking for a hands-on Project Manager to oversee projects from initial planning through to final installation and handover.
This is a practical, site-based role suited to someone who enjoys managing people, coordinating multiple moving parts and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
The Role
The Project Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of projects, working closely with clients, internal teams, suppliers, manufacturers and installation teams.
The ideal candidate will be confident visiting sites, coordinating installations, resolving issues and ensuring that all parties are working according to the project programme and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage projects from planning and preparation through to completion and handover.
• Conduct regular site visits and oversee installation activities.
• Coordinate and manage installation teams, contractors and internal project teams.
• Liaise directly with clients, providing regular project updates and addressing queries or concerns.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure products and materials are manufactured and delivered according to specifications and timelines.
• Monitor project programmes, deadlines and key deliverables.
• Ensure materials, fittings, fixtures and other project requirements are available when needed.
• Review drawings, specifications and project requirements to ensure correct execution.
• Coordinate deliveries and installation schedules.
• Identify and resolve project-related issues, delays and logistical challenges.
• Ensure installations are completed to the required quality standards.
• Manage snagging, rectification work and final project close-out.
• Keep clients and management informed of project progress.
• Monitor project costs and assist in keeping projects within budget.
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously where required.
• Work closely with designers, sales teams, procurement, manufacturers and installation teams.
• Ensure health, safety and site requirements are adhered to.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules and progress reports.
• Ensure successful project handovers and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
• 3–5+ years’ experience in Project Management, preferably within office furniture, office fit-outs, interior design, shopfitting, construction, workplace solutions or a related industry.
• Strong experience coordinating site installations and project teams.
• Comfortable travelling to client sites across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
• Experience dealing with clients, suppliers, manufacturers and contractors.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
• Good understanding of project planning, procurement, manufacturing and installation processes.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with wider teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to project delivery.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
• A valid driver’s licence is essential.
