REVIT/CAD TECHNICAL MODELLER

A vacancy exists in the Cape Town office for a Revit/CAD Technical modeler. The below job specification is comprehensive of the complete Revit/CAD Technical modeler role. Candidates will be evaluated and appointed at the level they are deemed to be at and will require the completion of a skills assessment upon short-listing of candidates.

Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
• Be part of this well-established multidisciplinary consultancy and be part of a team preparing and delivering complex Revit / BIM models, and associated AutoCAD engineering drawings.
• Implementing and assisting in day-to-day BIM related workflows, to meet organisational objectives.
• Mentoring other staff on Revit/CAD related concepts and training
• The candidate will typically be responsible for the modelling and production of:
o Wet-services and drainage design Revit models, sheets, and AutoCAD drawings Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC) design Revit models, sheets, and AutoCAD drawings
o Fire and Life safety design Revit models, sheets, and AutoCAD drawings
o Electrical

Day to day tasks:
• Work in a team with other engineering staff and report to engineering team leaders
• Interact internally with fellow project team members to ensure a coordinated effort for project delivery
• Checking drawings for quality and design defects
• BIM Model setup
• Creation of Families
• Creation of Revit models and AutoCAD drawings based on project needs, produced to company and related industry standards
• Liaising with external project coordinators with respect to BIM related issues

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Mechanical engineering qualification / proven appropriate experience
• 2-5 years of experience in MEP Building services Revit/BIM modelling
• Multi-disciplinary MEP experience will be advantageous
