Senior Interior Designer Needed for corporate Design Firm based in Cape Town

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer who is skilled in taking projects from concept development to completion, including construction management. You should be a detail-oriented designer with a proven ability to manage all aspects of a project, from initial design to final implementation. In this role, you’ll further develop your project management abilities while collaborating with clients and team members. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. A solid understanding of technical and commercial feasibility is also a must.
Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in Interior Design.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp is essential.
• Eligible to work in South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take full ownership of interior design projects from inception to handover.
• Assess client requirements and create detailed, accurate briefs.
• Develop creative and innovative design concepts that align with the client’s vision.
• Present design concepts and proposals to clients and team members.
• Refine and expand designs to meet the client’s needs, budget, and regulations.
• Produce technical and construction documentation packages.
• Coordinate with suppliers, site coordinators, and project managers.
• Facilitate smooth project handovers.
• Contribute to business development and the growth of the company.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Proven leadership skills and experience mentoring design teams.
• A collaborative, adaptable approach to teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Strong creative and spatial thinking, capable of designing functional and progressive spaces.
• Excellent conceptual design skills and practical problem-solving abilities.
• Deep understanding of construction methods and technical aspects of interior design.
• Extensive knowledge of local suppliers and service delivery within South Africa.
• Commitment to staying current with design trends and industry developments.
• Methodical approach to work, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong numerical skills and experience with budgeting and cost management.
• Proactive in networking and business development efforts.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
