General Manager – Manufacturing, Production & Shopfitting:
Johannesburg, Gauteng
Salary: R60,000 Gross per month (Growth Potential)
A well-established company specialising in shopfitting, manufacturing and installations is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee production, warehouse operations and overall business performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a proven ability to lead teams, improve operational efficiency and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing and production facility.
• Manage production planning, scheduling and workflow to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Lead warehouse operations, stock control and the movement of materials between production and installation teams.
• Supervise and mentor middle management, ensuring accountability and high team performance.
• Monitor production quality, efficiency and health and safety standards across the business.
• Work closely with installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity and operational performance.
• Manage resources, staffing and operational costs to maximise efficiency.
• Provide strategic leadership while maintaining a strong presence on the factory floor and within operations.
Minimum Requirements
• Proven experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager or Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in the shopfitting, joinery, cabinetry, retail fit-out or related manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
• Strong production and manufacturing management experience is essential.
• Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations and production workflows.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage supervisors, middle management and operational teams.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
