We are seeking an experienced Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Manager to lead and oversee a specialist compliance and risk team. This role is ideal for a confident people manager with a strong compliance or legal background and solid exposure to the South African regulatory environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of subject-matter experts and ensuring effective delivery across governance, compliance, and risk functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, manage, and coordinate the Governance, Risk & Compliance team, including:
o Compliance Officer (Collective Investment Schemes)
o Compliance Officer (LISP)
o Governance & Company Secretarial Officer
o Risk Officer
• Oversee team performance, work output, and regulatory deliverables
• Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and FSCA requirements
• Provide guidance, direction, and oversight rather than hands-on specialist execution
• Act as a key point of accountability for governance, compliance, and risk matters
• Support continuous improvement of internal controls, policies, and processes
Requirements
• Background in Compliance or Law
• Completed RE examinations (RE1 and/or RE3 as applicable)
• Proven exposure to and interaction with the FSCA
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage and motivate senior specialists
• Experience managing teams within a regulated financial services environment
• High-level understanding of governance, compliance, and risk frameworks
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills

Salary: Market related depending on the Candidate’s current salary, skills, experience, etc.
