Intermediate to Senior Interior Designer for Design Studio based in Cape Town

The main duties and responsibilities:
Lead design presentations for clients and manage design meetings, ensuring that project objectives are communicated clearly and effectively, along side detailed minutes of meeting to relay to Senior Members.
Assist in the coordination and execution of detailed designs, collaborating with Senior Designers and other team members to develop high-quality design solutions.
Oversee and support the production of design documents, from concept to detailed design, ensuring all aspects of the project are delivered accurately.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously, balancing client needs, project deadlines, and design requirements to ensure timely completion.
Create and manage FF&E selections, coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, and procurement teams to ensure that all items are sourced and delivered on time and within budget, whilst ensuring sizes and practicality are effective within the plan.
Maintain project schedules and ensure timely execution, with regular updates to Senior team members on project progress and any potential issues.
Assist in mentoring junior designers, providing guidance and support to ensure that their tasks are completed to a high standard. Work hard to be a role model for the design team
Conduct site visits, troubleshooting on-site issues, and liaising with contractors to ensure design details are implemented correctly.
Keep up-to-date with current design trends, actively contributing to the development of new ideas for client projects.
Ensure all project documentation is maintained to Studio’s standard, with an emphasis on clear and accurate communication with all team members, and saved clearly on server.
Coordinate and manage the installation and arrangement of FF&E and
artwork/accessories / Conduct site visits to assess spaces, gather measurements, and ensure that the design vision is being followed.
Review fixed finishes finishes and FF&E shop drawings with PC team and senior

Key Skills & Experience:
• 5-7 years of experience in Interior Design, with an emphasis on residential or commercial projects.
• Strong proficiency in design software (CAD, Photoshop, Sketchup etc.) and a solid understanding of design principles.
• Ability to independently manage and deliver projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Salary Market related, depending on the Candidate’s current salary, skills and notice period.
