Exciting Opportunity for a Junior Interior Designer
A well-established and creative retail interior design practice based in Cape Town is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Interior Designer to join their dynamic team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and driven design professional looking to gain hands-on experience within a collaborative environment, working on exciting retail and interior projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, excellent conceptual skills, and the ability to contribute creatively to project development and client presentations.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Junior Interior Designer with a recognised Interior Design Degree or Diploma, who is eager to grow within a fast-paced and creative design environment.
The successful candidate will assist in developing concepts, preparing presentation material, producing technical drawings, and supporting the team across various project stages.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the development of creative interior design concepts
• Produce 3D perspective visuals and compelling presentation material for client meetings
• Compile sample boards, finishes, and mood boards for presentations
• Prepare and amend drawings using AutoCAD
• Develop concepts and visualisations in SketchUp
• Assist with project coordination and administrative tasks where required
• Work collaboratively with the design team while also managing independent tasks effectively
• Ensure all assigned work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within deadlines
Requirements
• Recognised Interior Design Degree or Diploma
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, and Excel
• Strong concept development and creative thinking skills
• Ability to produce high-quality 3D visuals and presentation boards
• Well-organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Ability to take initiative and work independently when required
• Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
• Must have own reliable transport
• Must be Cape Town based
