Exciting Opportunity for a Mid-Level Interior Designer
A well-established and creative interior design practice based in Cape Town is seeking a talented and driven Mid-Level Interior Designer to join their growing team.
This opportunity is ideal for a passionate and technically strong designer who enjoys working across both the creative and technical aspects of interior design. The successful candidate will be involved in developing concepts, preparing detailed technical drawing packages, producing high-quality presentation material, and contributing to the successful delivery of exciting retail and interior projects.
We are seeking an individual with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced design environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and documentation process, assisting in taking projects from concept stage through to technical detailing and implementation.
This role requires a balance of strong design flair, technical detailing ability, and presentation skills, with the confidence to contribute meaningfully to project development.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and contribute to creative interior design concepts
• Produce full detailed working drawing packages, including:
o Floor plans
o Interior elevations
o Electrical layouts
o Lighting layouts
o Technical detailing and documentation
• Produce detailed joinery drawings for manufacturing and fabrication
• Create compelling 3D perspective visuals and renderings
• Compile sample boards, mood boards, and presentation material for client presentations
• Assist with project coordination and design development across various stages
• Ensure all work is executed accurately, efficiently, and in line with project deadlines
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams while also managing independent responsibilities
Requirements
• Recognised Interior Design Degree or Diploma
• Strong proficiency in:
o AutoCAD (essential)
o SketchUp
o Microsoft Office & Excel
• Proven ability to produce highly detailed technical working drawing packs
• Strong experience producing detailed joinery drawings for manufacture
• Excellent concept development and creative thinking skills
• Ability to create professional 3D visuals and presentation material
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Able to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment
• Must have own reliable transport
• Must be Cape Town based
