Senior Brand Designer
Location: Paarden Eiland, Cape Town
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Brand Designer to join a highly respected, creative design studio specializing in experiential retail, brand, and interior environments for both local and international clients.
This established multidisciplinary studio is renowned for delivering innovative brand experiences through strategic thinking, visual communication, and immersive spatial design. Working across retail, commercial, and branded environments, the team creates impactful concepts that bring brands to life through engaging and functional design solutions.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a senior-level creative professional with strong conceptual ability and a passion for brand storytelling across multiple touchpoints. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys leading projects from inception to completion, and can confidently mentor junior creatives while remaining hands-on in execution.
You will play a key role in shaping visual identities, translating strategy into compelling design solutions, and contributing to projects spanning print, digital, and spatial brand experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and drive creative brand projects from concept development through to final execution
Interpret client briefs and develop strong, innovative design solutions
Create high-quality visual work across multiple mediums, including branding, retail environments, digital assets, and communication collateral
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including strategists, interior designers, and project stakeholders
Provide creative guidance, support, and mentorship to junior and intermediate designers
Maintain consistency and integrity across all brand applications and project deliverables
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high creative and production standards
Stay informed on international branding, retail, and design trends to contribute fresh ideas and strategic insight
Minimum Requirements
Relevant qualification in Graphic Design, Brand Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
Minimum 7 years’ professional experience in a senior brand or graphic design role
Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and high-level design execution across multiple channels
Experience working on complex branding projects across various platforms
Previous retail or experiential brand design exposure would be advantageous
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of branding, typography, layout, and visual communication principles across print, digital, and environmental applications
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat
Strong computer literacy in Mac-based environments
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience designing for social media and digital platforms
Understanding of print and production processes
Advantageous Skills Include:
Motion graphics or animation experience
Photography skills
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or WordPress
Experience using Figma
Copywriting ability

Portfolio Requirement
A strong portfolio submission is essential and should demonstrate senior-level conceptual thinking, branding expertise, and execution across multiple platforms, particularly within retail or experiential brand environments.
