SENIOR CONSTRUCTION & CONTRACTS MANAGER- POSITION BASED IN SEYCHELLES
The position comprise’s approximately 70% Senior Construction Management duties and 30% Contracts Management office-based responsibilities.
The Senior Construction Manager oversees and coordinates large-scale construction projects from planning through completion. They are responsible for managing budgets, schedules, contractors, and compliance with safety and building regulations, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Manager:
• Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Supervise on-site construction activities and personnel.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, contracts, and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Resolve issues, delays, and project changes effectively.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to project team members.
Contracts Manager:
Contract Administration & Drafting:
• Review, and negotiate contracts, including construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and supplier contracts
• Ensure that all contracts comply with Seychelles construction laws, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., FIDIC)
• Prepare standard contract templates for different project types to streamline procurement and contracting processes
• Work with legal advisors to mitigate contractual risks and address potential disputes
• Ensure that all contract terms align with the company’s goals
Stakeholder Communication & Coordination:
• Act as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters with clients, contractors, suppliers
• Facilitate communication between PM, legal teams, finance, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all contract-related correspondence is well-documented and stored for future reference.
Requirements:
Educational Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in:
o Civil Engineering
o Construction Management
o Quantity Surveying
o Architecture
o Law (with construction/contracts specialization)
• A Master’s degree in Construction Law, Project Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is often preferred or advantageous.

🏗️ Professional Experience
• 10+ years of relevant experience in construction contracts and project management.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, especially in sectors like infrastructure, oil & gas, commercial real estate, or industrial construction.
• Experience with FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or other standard forms of construction contracts.

📜 Certifications & Professional Memberships
• PMP (Project Management Professional) – from PMI
• MRICS/FRICS – Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (for Quantity Surveyors or Contract Administrators)
• MCIOB/FCIOB – Chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Building
• CCM – Certified Construction Manager (from CMAA)
• CIArb – Membership with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (for those involved in dispute resolution)
• Contract Law certifications or diplomas from recognized institutions (e.g., RICS, CIArb, universities)
