Our client, a highly regarded and design-led international studio, is seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect (or Architect with a strong passion for landscape design) to join their team in Johannesburg or Cape Town.
The practice specialises in the design of large-scale landscapes across hospitality, public realm, and ecological restoration projects. Their work is complex, multidisciplinary, and global in nature, requiring close collaboration with architects, planners, and specialist consultants.

This is a senior-level position suited to a professional who can lead projects, manage small teams, and take ownership of deliverables from concept design through to detailed construction documentation.
The studio approaches landscape as a structuring framework, shaping spatial experience, environmental performance, and long-term ecological resilience. Their process is grounded in a deep understanding of landform, climate, hydrology, and soil systems, with a strong emphasis on indigenous planting and ecological restoration.

🛠 Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage projects across all stages, from concept to construction
• Oversee and mentor junior team members within a collaborative studio environment
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, planners, and consultants
• Engage directly with clients, presenting design concepts and managing expectations
• Ensure delivery of high-quality technical documentation and construction packages
• Maintain design integrity and buildability throughout project lifecycles

✅ Core Requirements
• Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
• Minimum 5+ years post-qualification experience (or more for seniority)
• Proven experience on large-scale, complex, multidisciplinary projects
• Strong design leadership, graphic, and presentation skills
• Advanced construction knowledge and technical detailing ability
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Revit proficiency advantageous
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills with clients and professional teams
• High level of accuracy and ability to self-review work
• Willingness to travel and work on international projects
