Senior Practice Accountant
Reports to: Practice Founder, with operational support from your Client Manager
Location: Remote within South Africa
Type: Full-time, permanent. Long-term placement.
Hours: 38.5 per week, Irish business hours (Mon–Thu 10:00–18:00 SAST / Fri 10:00–16:30 SAST)
Compensation: Competitive senior practice salary, with full training on the Irish accounting framework
The Role
You will take ownership of year-end accounts files, from trial balance through to draft sign-off at partner-review quality, with minimum review adjustments required. You will run a portfolio of files independently, communicate directly with the practice founder, and free the founder to focus on client review, advisory, and statutory sign-off.
You will work closely with the wider practice team: bookkeepers handing files up to you for year-end work, and the founder reviewing your draft accounts before sign-off. Full training is provided in your first 8 weeks on the Irish accounting framework, year-end disclosures, Corporation Tax, CRO filings, personal income tax for directors, and accounts production software.
What You’ll Do
Accounts production
Prepare year-end statutory accounts to draft sign-off level, with clear recommendations
Maintain year-end working papers and file documentation
Handle group structures and intercompany entries where applicable
Tax & compliance
Draft Corporation Tax computations and returns
CRO filings, including B1 annual returns and abridged statutory accounts
Personal income tax returns for company directors
VAT review as part of accounts preparation, and PAYE compliance support
