Senior Project Manager – International Hospitality Development
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Relocation Required)
An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a prestigious international hospitality development. Acting as the Owner’s Representative, you will take full responsibility for driving the project from design through to completion, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and the highest international brand standards.
This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to executive management and requires an accomplished construction professional with extensive large-scale hospitality project experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the planning and execution of the complete project lifecycle from design through construction and handover.
• Develop and manage the Project Execution Plan, including programme, budget, milestones and project controls.
• Oversee project budgets, expenditure, forecasting, contractor claims, variations and consultant invoices.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Chair design coordination, progress and site meetings.
• Ensure compliance with international brand standards, quality requirements, health & safety regulations and sustainability objectives.
• Monitor project risks, resolve construction and coordination issues and implement corrective actions where required.
• Produce executive-level progress reports and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Minimum Requirements
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing large-scale building or hospitality developments.
• Proven delivery of international branded hotel new-build projects (or comparable high-end mixed-use developments).
• Strong experience in budgeting, scheduling and contract administration.
• Working knowledge of FIDIC contracts.
• Proficient in MS Project, Primavera or equivalent project management software.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English.
• Willing and able to relocate and be site-based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Highly Advantageous
• Previous experience delivering projects within Africa or other emerging markets.
• Owner’s Representative or Project Management Consultancy (PMC) experience.
• Exposure to development finance-funded projects (IFC, DFI, DFC etc.).
• Amharic language skills.
