This role is ideal for candidates from backgrounds in engineering, architecture, or industrial design who have a deep curiosity about how things are made, a strong understanding of material properties, and a technical mindset for component assembly across rigid and textile systems.
You will collaborate with both in-house and external partners to translate high-level designs into precise, fabrication-ready documentation. You will play a key part in the design development process, from concept breakdown and prototyping through to handover for production.
Reporting Line:

Key Responsibilities:
• Translate architectural and product designs into detailed technical drawings and fabrication documentation.
• Develop and document assemblies involving both textile-based and rigid components, taking into account materials, tolerances, fabrication constraints, and site conditions.
• Interface with third-party fabricators (e.g., CMT factories, steel fabricators) to ensure clarity and accuracy of documentation.
• Participate in collaborative design and technical workshopping with internal teams and external consultants.
• Assist with design iteration and prototyping, supporting the transition from digital model to built product.
• Coordinate closely with DfMa and project teams to meet production deadlines.
• Maintain version control and technical accuracy across documentation packages.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design-to-fabrication workflows.

Required Skills & Experience:
• 4–5 years of relevant postgraduate experience in fabrication, technical detailing, or product development.
• Background in engineering, architecture, or industrial design with a strong focus on materiality and component-based design.
• Demonstrated experience working across both textile-based structures and rigid assemblies
is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of material behavior and manufacturing processes.

Software Proficiency (Weighted by Relevance):
• SolidWorks – High proficiency (60–70%)
• AutoCAD – Competent (30–40%)
• Rhino – Competent (30–40%)
• SketchUp – Beneficial
• Revit – Prior experience advantageous (approx. 50% relevance)

Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Technically curious – enjoys dissecting designs and understanding how things go together.
• Independent worker who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Comfortable working within deadline-driven, production-based workflows.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when conveying complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Keen to contribute to the delivery of innovative international projects in the eco-hospitality space.

What We Offer:
• Exposure to international projects at the forefront of sustainable, experiential design.
• Mentorship from professionals with decades of technical and design experience in architecture, engineering, and DfMa.
• Opportunity to specialize in technical systems, componentry, or lead design teams over time.
• A hybrid work environment supporting flexibility, learning, and career development in the office and the warehouse environment.
• Immediate start, with a structured two-stage interview process including a task-based assignment.

If you’re a hands-on designer, detail-oriented thinker, and enjoy seeing your ideas realized in the physical world, we’d love to hear from
you
